The Union Public Service Commission conducts the Civil Services Preliminary Exam which is common for the candidates applying for Civil Services Examination and Indian Forest Service Examination, and acts as a screening mechanism for selection of candidates for the Civil Services (Main) Examination and Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination.
Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) is conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) every year to select candidates for Civil Services Main Exam. Those who pass the Mains Exam and Interview can join prestigious Indian government services such as IAS, IPS, etc.
CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test) has two papers: General Studies and General Ability Test. It is mandatory for you to appear in both the Papers of Civil Services (Prelim) Examination for the purpose of evaluation. You will be disqualified in case you do not appear in both the papers.
The Main Examination consists of written examination and an interview test. The written exam consists of nine papers of conventional essay type out of which two papers are of qualifying in nature. Marks obtained for all the compulsory papers (Paper-I to Paper-VII) and Marks obtained in Interview for Personality Test are counted for ranking.

On the basis of the result of the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2018 held on 03 June 2018, the candidates are qualified for admission to the Civil Services Main Examination, 2018. The UPSC declares the result in the form of pdf file with the list of roll numbers.
