National Defence Academy (NDA) / Naval Academy (NA) Exam

The Union Public Service Commission conducts this exam for admission to the Army, Navy and Air Force wings of the NDA and for Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC). The candidates Joining Indian Naval Academy would undergo 4 years B.Tech Course and would be given an opportunity to join Executive and Technical Branches of the Navy subject to availability of vacancies.

General Ability Test paper is divided into two parts: Part A and Part B. Part A has 50 English questions and Part B has 100 General Knowledge questions. There is penalty for wrong answers in the Objective Type Question Papers.

The Mathematics section of NDA consists of 120 multiple choice objective questions. The duration of the test is 2 hours 30 minutes. The questions are from Class XI and XII level.

The cutoff is the minimum qualifying marks approved at the written stage and marks secured by the last recommended candidate at final stage of the examination.

The SSB procedure consists of two stage selection process - stage I and stage II. Only those candidates who clear the stage I are permitted to appear for stage II.

NDA exam is conducted in 41 cities or towns all over India. There is a ceiling on the number of candidates allotted to each of the centres except Chennai, Dispur, Kolkata and Nagpur. Allotment of Centres is on the first-apply-first-allot basis and once the capacity of a particular centre is attained, the same will be frozen.
